Frequently Asked Questions

  • Insurance companies require that your child has a diagnosis of autism. We will need a copy of the diagnostic report and a referral for ABA therapy. We will also need a copy of your insurance card.

  • Currently autism is the only diagnosis covered by insurance for ABA in New York. Out of pocket payment options are available if you would like to pursue services and your child does not have an autism diagnosis.

  • We don't diagnose, but we would be happy to help you find someone who does.

  • We are currently in network with Aetna, Evernorth, MVP, and Univera. We are in the process of obtaining insurance contracts with several other insurance companies including Medicaid and CHP plans. We can accept out of pocket payments in the meantime. If you prefer to wait and use insurance, please contact us and we will reach out once we are able to start. Please check back for updates!

  • With the exception of special circumstances, sessions are a minimum of 2 hours and can range anywhere from 2-8 hours depending on your child's needs and the goals in their treatment plan.

  • Sessions can occur 1-5 days per week depending on the goals in your child's treatment plan.

  • Research shows that early intervention leads to the best outcomes. Each child learns at their own pace. Some children only need therapy for a year or two and others need lifelong supports. It is impossible to predict how long therapy will be needed but we will update you on their progress on an ongoing basis.

  • Each child has a therapy team consisting of one or more Behavior Therapists who are supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

  • Group therapy is not offered at this time but will be offered in the future.

  • Center services are not offered at this time but will be offered in the future.

  • Unfortunately we can't provide babysitting, but if you have concerns about your child's behavior with their babysitter or about how they interact with peers while at daycare, we may be able to help.

  • It depends. While we cannot directly teach your child academics and self care tasks, if he or she has trouble learning new skills due to language deficits or interfering behaviors we may be able to help.

  • Although we only provide ABA services, we can coordinate services with your child's other providers such as Speech Therapists, OTs, doctors, and schools to collaborate on goals and consult with each other.
